Week 1: Email Assignment

Please complete this assignment not later than Monday, 10 September 2018.  It has three parts:

  • Read this article from Purdue University about appropriate & professional email.  Any emailed communication in this course should follow these forms so everyone gets used to them.
  • Following those appropriate email forms, send me electronic mail from your Suffolk University account. Please note the following:
    • Please give me the following information:  your local address, your telephone number, your anticipated major, and your interest in science fiction and fantasy.
    • Include in your email your preferred email address for receiving material from this class, if it's not the university account.

    • Make sure you sign your email with your full name.  If you do not have a signature file set up, please consider doing so.  (Do not expect me to know that DuckGod@aol.com is Jeremy Irons.)
  • If you intend to use an email address other than your Suffolk University student account, please do remember that all of the university's official correspondence (and any emergency notes via Blackboard) will still go to your Suffolk account. This includes information about registration, payment, university emergencies, and so on. If you do not check your university email account regularly, you are likely to miss quite a bit of important information. (There have been students who have not graduated on time because they missed notifications about graduation deadlines!)
